Aimster Download Appeal

April 25, 2003

We've just filed our appeal brief, and it's linked here.

Aimster Download - Appeal Brief

We're appealing an injunction against me that required me to control encrypted instant messages, which is what the Aimster software uses for file-transfer, even though I can't possibly know what the encrypted instant messages say.

The ruling by Judge Wilson in the Streamcast-Grokster case is certainly very encouraging. It gives me faith in our system of justice!

Of course, I believe Judge Marvin Aspen, who enjoined me last September - Injunction Against Me - is also a wonderful judge. I just haven't had a chance to make our case at all in Judge Aspen's Court, because I've been completely out-maneuvered by the attorneys for the Music Companies. But I know I'll have my day yet!

And in the spirit of fairness that I think is typical of so many blogs, I'm also posting here the Music Companies Aimster Download appeal brief.

And back in March - back when I was still only 17! - I posted our first appeal brief: Aimster Appeal Filed in Seventh Circuit - Free Music News Blog.
