Aimee, My, have you grown. I remember the first Aimster pics... First time on this site. Miraculously impressed with the breadth and depth of insight in the word doc. I wonder... Anyway, I agree with your point(s), and would like to add another. Music in Iraq is sold differently than the USA. As I understand it, a music shop has a master of everything they sell. When a customer buys, a copy is made and money is paid. This isn't illegal, it the way it is done. I heard the story on NPR, so it may be true or biased. As you probably already know, the music companies already shut dow BestBuy's (and other's in the retail industry) attempt to do the same with CDs. It's so effiecient - store the CDs on a harddrive, use the floor space for digital displays/ads/search kiosks, browse a HUGE selection, then burn your music and charge your card. So, if the **AAs have their way. It will be their servers, their kiosks, their music, and last but not least, their paying customer - cut with the middleman. So you're right, the war in Iraq could be considered a DRM fight - The Intellectual Property War for Asia. Thanks for having the rocks to say so. Ron Posted by: Ron, on June 1, 2003 02:56 AM
