Buyers Pay More to Copy CDs. This explains why CDs are not copy-protected...
Music Execs have had the ability to copy-protect CDs for at least 10 years, and they never did. Why? Because they know they make more money from CDs if they consumers can copy them.
It's just hypocritical when the Music Industry, on the one hand, charges more for CDs that can be copied, and then try to sue consumers for copying the CDs.
They can't have it both ways. Either they charge less for CDs that can't be copied - and watch their sales and profits plummet, because no one wants to but. Or they admit that sales and profits on CDs are as high as they are now because of the surcharge that consumers already paid for the right to copy.
