Free Music Available in the Netherlands

Free Music Available in the Netherlands

March 12, 2003

According to USATODAY.com - free music is thriving in the Netherlands. And the Netherlands is only 20 milliseconds from the US...

I believe people are honest and would gladly pay for music in the US -- if it was available in the US.

But the music industry only makes the music availabe in the Netherlands, a 20 milliseconds trip via the Internet.

So the music industry is basically exporting the music for free -- creating jobs in the Netherlands, while stripping jobs from their own music and technology companies here.

They are so desperate to block competition they will even kill their own country's economy.

Of course, the corporate parents of the US-Based music companies are foreign anyway... so this could be a kind of international strategy to kill the US economy.

I'm constantly amazed that US music exec's are short-sighted enough not to realize that it is a "World Wide Web". Posted by: Joey, http://www.freesheetmusic.net on April 6, 2003 02:34 PM
