The War To Keep Dollars as Oil Currency
An essay from the Independent Media tells what's at stake over the next several weeks - a great deal more than you think...
This topic - of how the value of the Dollar depends on oil - was new to me, and I haven't had a chance to study it.
But you don't see this topic in Big Media... it's too dangerous, and too complex.

The reason you don't see it in Big Media is because it's blatantly stupid, just like most conspiracy theories.
If that were the US's interests and motivation here, they could have simply removed the sanctions against Iraq (cutting a deal to do so in exchange for contracts fairly easily), thus lowering the price of oil. Furthermore, note that all the Big Oil companies in the US have been against the sanctions on Iraq, much less war.

I have to agree with Thacker on this. It would cost us far less to cut a deal with Iraq as so many other countries have done.
I also disagree with the assertion that there's virtually no international support. If anything, there's more support from non-arab nations than Arab nations, but we even have 3 or 4 of those working with us.

Yeah, right. Whatever. I thought this was a music blog, not a left-wing conspiracy site. Another cute ditzy blonde, I guess the stereotype IS true.

John Thacker's statement is blatently stupid. If Iraq's oil was to be "set free" as is, it would be done under OPEC, not the U.S.'s NOPEC. That would defy the purpose of using Iraq's cheap oil to compete with OPEC if it switches to Euros as oil currency or threatens to. Also let's not forget, actually I'm sure you didn't know, that Iraq switched its oil currency and reserve currency from the U.S. dollar to the Euro in 2000. Because of the depreciation of the U.S. Dollar in recent years, Iraq reaped profits from doing so, and Iran and OPEC are already interested in such a switch. I feel sorry for those who think anything that's NOT on the mainstream media is a false conspiracy theory. You need to stop living inside your televisions and realise that the WORLD you see on it isn't a world at all, it's merely a tiny tiny part of the world called "public relations".

Hey, give the "ditzy blonde" a break, she didn't say she studied it. There's no need to insult her. The idea that someone like the president would believe he could create a war for oil is insane. No one in the White House would come close to thinking it possible. Anyway, in conclusion I have to say Aimee Deep is one fine name.

Yes -- and another mouth breathing conservative war monger. Guess that stereotype is true too.

conspiracy theory #213
could the US have planted the SARS virus in china to keep her busy with her own backyard? so as to close an eye for the going ons in iraq ?
if it is true i guess we will be the biggest LIAR and bioterrorist in the world !!

Actually, I think the study has alot of merit, conspiracy theory or not; it is a study into the "intent", always a difficult case to prove either way; prove its NOT true! Note, the latest "plan" is for Iraq to remain a part of OPEC, but--notably--without quota limits. If you bothered to read the essay, which I doubt, you would see that this is designed, according to the essay. You can't simply dismiss a theory when its given with evidence. Study it first, or STFU.
Congrats to YOU Aimee, for having more balls than these men.
