Full Text Translation of Bin Laden Tape

Another Drudge dupe - he's reporting Bin Laden still alive, reveals spy satellite... . But if you read the story, you see that Bin Laden's voice has not been identified by the satellite, only Mullah Omar's.

Worse yet, Drudge, AP and the Washington Post have all been duped, claiming Purported Bin Laden Tape Warns U.S.."

Buried in the story is the disclaimer, "It wasn't immediately clear when the tape was made."

UPDATE: But if you read the Full Text Translation of Bin Laden Tape, there are no references that indicate it was made recently.

I regard this kind of journalism as irresponsible scare-mongering. There is absolutely no evidence here of any recent identification of Bin Laden.

Who is helped by this irresponsible journalism? Only the terrorists - who steal headlines, deceive readers, and encourage their few remaining supporters, maybe with hidden messages.

Take it from me: BIN LADEN IS STILL DEAD - I picked this up from reliable steganography messages last month.

In other news, the LA Times is saying Mickey Mouse CEO is still finished, and in this editorial TalkDisney.com - Failing Magic at Disney-EDITORIAL (Mirror), as I also previously reported from confidential sources.

i wouldnt be so quick to toot your own horn here. if all they said was the tape was 'purported' to be from bin laden, then, even if he is in fact head, they are still correct. i would hardly call putting the word 'purported' in the headline 'burying' anything. I agree that Bin Laden is dead and has been for many months (although I'm curious about what "reliable steganography messages" are--Aimee, please explain). Note the reference in the tape to the "two battles" (explicitly the WTC and the Pentagon) and no reference to the third in Afghanistan. If this tape is by Bin Laden, it's probably an old one from September or early October of 2001, promising retribution if we invade Afghanistan. Everything in it fits this context and I suppose they've just been holding onto it until a circumstance arose to which its vague references could apply. If Osama had really sent out a message in the last few days, all he had to do to establish its date was to say something specific about the situation re Iraq. Note that all the supposed messages from Osama after Tora Bora have lacked any reference to specific post-Tora Bora events. This in itself constitutes a powerful argument that he is dead or completely incapacitated. Posted by: Jim Davila, on October 9, 2002 05:13 AM
