Anti-Trusting Big Media

Anti-Trusting Big Media

Lawrence Lessig is calling for "increasing trust at the ends of the network, [which] would weaken an argument that Hollywood now pushes: that Congress regulate every machine on the Internet to protect Hollywood's content."

I agree - but we don't need to let Microsoft do it with their Palladium. FairPlay - an electronic right to bear arms - is a trusted platform that is open source and achieves the same thing as Palladium. I think only open-source technology can be trusted.

I've got some official court papers describing FairPlay that are being presented to the court today, and I'll post them on musicpundit as soon as they're submitted to the court.

Sorry, but given the legal battles my Dad is in - with the other Anti-trust villains - I've got to be careful about what I say and when I say it.

In a way, I guess that's a good thing. If we're presenting the description of FairPlay to the court under oath, then even the description can be trusted. You can't say that about Microsoft's typical vaporware.

Thanks to all friends and bloggers. I love you.
