Rumors of My Demise

September 05, 2002

It's always strange to see myself in news articles. Especially, now - I feel like Tom Sawyer watching his own funeral. Hate to crash the party, but these rumors are greatly exaggerated. Some reporters buy whatever song Big Media sells them, no matter how bad it is. Even my friend Brad at Wired doesn't bother to listen first.

after following the links youve presented, one has to wonder if you really disdain "big media" all that much. after all, if it wasnt for "big media" there would be no one to report on your "hobnobbing with the jet set" at movie premieres. there also would be no one to give your father's company a whole boatload of free publicity. in addition, there would be no one to write the words "it doesnt matter that she doesnt know a line of code" or that aimster wasnt "as much about file sharing as it was girl ogling". i guess everything in life is useful in its own way, eh? Response for the moron "stone": It becomes so clear from your words that your only intention is to criticise at all costs. Being a loser must truly suck, huh? U just wish you had a chick like aimee. Posted by: al costa, on September 6, 2002 07:16 AM

I dont consider pointing out the overwrought rhetoric in Madster's statements to be a case of "criticise at all costs". If you would like to explain how the "big media continual rant" pairs up with "willingly going along with having big media track her movements and write stories about her and plaster her picture all over this great nation of ours" then I will be happy to read along. When I first stumbled on to this site, it came off as a misguided attempt to proclaim the relative innocence of file sharing. The more I read of Madster's comments as well as the very news stories she sees fit to post here which supposedly bolster her case, the more it becomes apparent this is something of a slick hustle orchestrated by a behind the scenes father who is perfectly willing to use his daughter's looks to further his own "aims". If that is unduly criticising her then so be it. Personally I think it is disgusting. Posted by: Stone, on September 6, 2002 09:43 AM
